With the arrival of the Barcelona Olympic games the hotel was completely renovated whilst maintaining the features that make it unique: Artisan ceilings, lamps of cast bronze and crystal, marble floors and colour schemes immortalized by Roca-Sastre. The expansion of the hotel in 2003 has given it one of the most sophisticated fire detection systems that exist.
