- Hotel Description
A Ryder Cup 2010 hotel, with the tower and walls of Brecon Castle located in its gardens, this heritage hotel offers great charm and character. It opened as a coaching inn in the late 18th century, becoming the first hotel in Wales in the first decade of the 19th century. Located in private grounds on a prominent hill in the centre of the Georgian town, it offers beautiful views over the River Usk and up to the Brecon Beacons mountains. Brecon Castle Hotel is just 2 miles from Cradoc Golf Course (Welsh golf course of the year 2005). As well as hawking, golf, fishing, mountain climbing and walking holidays, historical castle and monastery tours are organised from the hotel. The hotel owns its own canal boat on the Brecon canal for those wishing to mix and match their time in the Brecon Beacons.
- Privately owned and family-run, the hotel combines a friendly atmosphere with efficient service and excellent, locally sourced food in its restaurant and bar/bistro. Food is served all-day, every day. There is off-road parking and Wi-Fi in all public areas. The hotel is dog friendly. There are extensive conference and wedding facilities.
